Dear Colleagues, Academics and Sector Professionals,
We are delighted to announce that the 4th International Family, Youth and Child-Friendly Tourism Management Congress is to be held on 1-3 June 2022.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the following people that have taken into consideration the significance of the issue and therefore contributed greatly to our decision to continue the event: Chairman of Beykoz University Board of Trustees R. Engin Özmen, Rector Prof. Mehmet Durman, Vice Rector and Deputy Dean of Business and Administrative Sciences Prof. Baki Aksu and Vice Rector Prof. Selahattin Kuru.
Seeing that tour operators and hospitality businesses have begun to opt for marketing strategies highlighting themselves more and more with labels such as “Family Hotel”, “Child-Friendly Hotel”, we have decided to look further into the business management/marketing aspects of the issue.
In the same way, one of the emphasized topics in the congress will be the studies for identifying the criteria for “Child-Friendly Tourism Businesses” and awarding a special sign to the businesses that comply with those criteria.
Needless to say, it will be not only an honour but a source of great motivation for us to welcome each and every one of you, the esteemed academics; leaders, operators and theorists in the fields of tourism, business management and economy.
The goal of the congress is to strengthen a reliable tourism understanding that could lay the foundations for World Peace, ensure safety of families in tourism, protect the youth, create an awareness of preventing violence against as well as exploitation of children; preventing commercial exploitation of the concepts on family and children besides paving the way for related scientific studies in the field.
If only we were able to host you in İstanbul- the pearl of the world, standing out among all the other cities thanks to the many civilizations it hosted for centuries, its unique nature, historic architecture and rich culture. Nevertheless, holding our congress online seems to be the more reasonable choice to opt for in these times. Hopefully, we will be able to meet in Istanbul in another congress in the future.
I would like to thank you in advance for all your valuable contributions.
Best regards,
Prof. Dr. H. Suavi AHIPAŞAOĞLU
Congress Chairman
